Welcome to the Hawick Summer Festival Website!

All the action will get underway from 11.30am on Saturday, August 13th   at Trinity Gardens with the launch of 1000 balloons; a performance from international youth dancers and a mass children's fitness workout conducted by staff from Teviotdale Leisure Centre. While Cornet Michael Davidson will crown this year's Flower Princess.

Following the activities at The Horse, events will then switch to Teviotdale Leisure Centre when a full day of activities is planned. These will begin with a 'We are the champions' style swimming event. With former Weel Kent Face winners acting as manager's for the various children's teams. Local celebrity cook, Carolyn Oliver, fresh from her recent appearance on the ITV programme 'Britain's Best Dish', will be conducting a cookery demonstration. Staff from the Escape Youth Café will be organising children's activities, while a craft fair will also be held.

The opening day will be rounded off in spectacular style, as the indoor bowls hall will be transformed into a concert venue for the first time in a number of years. The open plan feature of the bowls hall will lend itself perfectly to a Jools Holland style evening featuring Duke Street, The Joe Mangels and a host of other local entertainers.

THE opening day of this year's Hawick Summer Festival is shaping up to be one of the best in its history.

Trinity Gardens and the Teviotdale Leisure Centre will be the two venues for a string of exciting new activities to launch the 27 th   annual ten-day extravaganza.
